Bottesford Town Council General Maintenance Person/Caretaker

 

The post is part time offering 12 hours per week at a rate of £11.44 per hour. Days/Times to be agreed. 

The job entails part working outside in all seasons, requiring a good level of fitness.

Candidate must be able to carry out basic risk assessments for the varied duties as required and must be knowledgeable of manual handling techniques, working at height regulations, COSHH and other safety requirements. 

The majority of the work will be lone-working and un-supervised, reporting to the Bottesford town clerk. 

Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of domestic and light industrial equipment will be expected within the applicable laws. 

Park safety inspections for the 3 council parks to include the reporting of missing/damaged equipment. 

Basic gardening, decorating and DIY skills are required along with general property maintenance experience, basic woodworking, plumbing, lighting (lamp changes) etc.

Undertake any other duties broadly consistent with the level of the post as required by the town clerk.

 

Courteous interaction with members of the public and Bottesford town councillors is expected.

 

The candidate should -

Live within the Bottesford council locality

Have own car and full licence with business insurance, for which a mileage allowance is paid.

 

Flexibility with working hours as required, occasional weekend work.

Be prepared to undertake DBS check
